How we make money
Last updated 11 October 2026.
evchargecost.com.au is free to use. We are funded by advertising and by commercial arrangements with some of the businesses we mention. When you click a partner link, or sign up for a product after visiting our site, we may receive a referral fee, commission or other payment from that business. Payment amounts vary between partners.
Our current commercial arrangements
As of the date above we have no affiliate or referral agreements in place, and no advertiser pays us. “Compare plans” buttons currently link to free government or retailer tools, and we earn nothing from them. Spaces marked “Advertisement” are reserved for future ads. We will update this page when that changes.
Sponsored placements and labels
Some partners may pay us to feature their products more prominently. These placements are always labelled ‘Sponsored’ or ‘Advertisement’. They are not a ranking or a recommendation that the product suits you. Any partner link is labelled ‘Partner link’ and has a short commission notice right next to it.
How results are ordered
Our calculator results and estimated costs are worked out the same way whether or not we have a commercial arrangement with a provider. Tables that rank cars by estimated cost are sorted only by that estimate (lowest first). Commercial arrangements never change an estimate or a ranking.
What we compare
We do not compare every electricity plan, charging network or vehicle in the market. See Methodology for exactly which cars, tariffs and networks are included and when each price was last checked.
