Where these prices come from
- Off-peak: OVO The EV Plan, midnight–6am (needs an EV and a smart meter). OVO Energy, The EV Plan (NSW, VIC, QLD, SA) (as of 2026-10-11).
- Standard: Average single-rate usage, Energex network (Canstar). Canstar, average single-rate usage rates by distributor (data dated 4 Sep 2026) (as of 2026-09-04).
- Solar: Example retailer solar feed-in (AGL Night Saver EV). Feed-ins vary widely by retailer. AGL Night Saver EV plan page (3c/kWh solar feed-in, an example retailer rate) (as of 2026-10-11).
- Petrol: Australian Institute of Petroleum, weekly ULP capital-city average, week ending 4 Oct 2026.
These are examples, not the whole market: we do not compare every retailer or plan. Rates exclude supply charges and many plans need a smart meter.

Public charging networks
Most networks no longer publish rate cards. These are the latest published or reported prices with their dates; always check the network’s app before you plug in.
